Job summary

The Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel (OCC) seeks an Analytical Intern to support the Analytical Department. This part-time, summer or school-year position offers hybrid work options and exposure to utility regulation. You will assist with data analysis, review accounting records, prepare data requests, and help draft proposals.

Strong writing and research skills are essential. Enrollment in economics, accounting, or finance is required; accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program pursuing a degree in economics, accounting, finance, or similar field.
• Accounting experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to conduct online research.
• Strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director, Analytical Department and OCC staff with analysis and research of utility-related topics.
• Review accounting, financial records, and current and prior utility rates.
• Verify utility data for service reliability and protection of consumer information.
• Draft data requests and proposals for related research and analysis.
• Support case and issue development by gathering and interpreting materials.
