Job summary

City of Clovis is seeking an experienced public transit executive to plan, organize, manage, and direct the Transit Section. You will coordinate planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract management for the city’s transit system and lead policy formulation and staff supervision.

Occasional after-hours emergencies and council reporting are included. The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor's in public administration or related field, a Master’s preferred, and at least five years in transit or

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in public administration, transportation, or related field.
  • Desired: Master's degree.
  • Five years progressively responsible professional work experience.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience.
  • No more than two years of education substituted by related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct the Transit Section activities.
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract management for public transportation.
  • Develop and implement transit policies, rules, and practices.
  • Supervise staff, conduct evaluations, and respond to emergencies after hours.
  • Prepare staff reports and present to City Council; maintain records.
