Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; data entry training preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to handle calls professionally.
• Knowledge of public relations principles and the Hampton Roads area is helpful.
• Ability to follow written/oral directions and keep simple records.
• Proficient with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office.
• Detail oriented with good organizational and follow-up skills.
• Patience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-line call center phone system.
• Utilize CAD/AVL software, CAS, websites, route/schedule lists, and mobile fare payment tools.
• Answer inquiries about routes, schedules, fares, and services with accurate information.
• Provide language translation assistance and assist with mobile fare accounts.
• Serve as backup switchboard/receptionist and maintain records in compliance with policies.
• Support special events and respond to incidents per procedures.
