Job summary

Block by Block in Boston is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador to keep streets and sidewalks clean in assigned zones. You will greet the public, assist with directions, and perform litter removal, weed pulling, and routine surface cleaning while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor.

No prior experience required; we train. Must be 18+, able to work outdoors in all weather, and able to read and write English for basic reports. Weekly pay, pay advances, and uniforms are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but not required; we will train.
• Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk eight hours with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions; uniforms provided.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned zone with rolling trash can; maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
• Greet pedestrians and provide directions and information.
• Remove litter, graffiti, and posters from public areas.
• Pull weeds at tree wells and sidewalks.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces such as trash can lids and news boxes.
• Report safety concerns and complete daily task reports in English.
