Job summary

Expotel Hospitality in Metairie, LA is seeking a Public Area Attendant to maintain high cleanliness standards in lobby areas and public restrooms, while performing Room Attendant duties as needed. The role supports daily hotel operations through attentive service and teamwork.

Responsibilities include adhering to service standards, grooming, and safety protocols, using radios correctly, and assisting with lost and found, linen delivery, and trash disposal.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state (property specific).

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Expotel Hospitality Service standards, as required by scheduling.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply at all times with Expotel Hospitality Service standards and regulations to ensure safe, efficient hotel operations.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
• Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees.
• Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self.
• Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to hotel standards.
• Turn in keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office at end of shift.
• Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
• Be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist if needed.
• Deliver clean linen to assigned sections, if necessary.
• Pickup Room Attendant’s dirty linen or trash as needed.
• Collect trash from service landings and dispose per hotel procedures.
• Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms.
• Adhere to the schedule for project cleaning of public areas.
• Maintain stairwells to hotel standards.
• Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
