The City of New York seeks a Staff Analyst to join the Division of Budget and Capital Program Management Expense Budget unit. You will monitor and analyze the agency's PS budget, prepare budget modifications, and distribute regular budget reports to senior management.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, quantitative, and process-improvement skills, with experience in public budget systems; familiarity with the City's FMS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, or public administration, or JD/related field.
• Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant budget experience or equivalent.
• Associate degree + 4 years relevant experience is acceptable.
• High school diploma + 6 years relevant experience is acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and analyze the agency's PS (personnel services) budget and expenditures.
• Review proposed personnel actions for headcount and funding.
• Prepare and process PS budget modifications and accruals.
• Prepare PS spending plans and biweekly/monthly/Ad hoc reports.
• Collaborate with Budget Office and division partners to inform senior management.
