Job summary

Dakota County is seeking a Public Service Associate at the Burnsville License Center to provide frontline public service and regulatory information. You will handle vital records, licensing inquiries, cash receipts, and office duties in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least two years of public-facing office experience, with cashiering system familiarity, and a willingness to support multiple service Centers as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of office experience involving public contact.
• Experience in a customer service environment preferred.
• Proficiency with cashiering systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to public inquiries by phone or in person and provide timely service.
• Assist with Vital Records processing and licensing information.
• Review documents for accuracy and compliance with statutes.
• Process payments and calculate license fees; balance receipts daily.
• Assist in training new staff and handling mailings.
• Instruct customers to access property information and archived records.
