Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires law degree and Illinois license to practice law.
• Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the practice of law.
• Prefers three years of experience practicing litigation.
• Prefers experience drafting petitions and motions in court.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Legal Counsel - Litigation for the Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC).
• Confers with the Deputy General Counsel in preparation of litigation for hearings.
• Provides interpretation of court orders, statutes and regulations for IDEC.
• Develops and responds to recommendations from the Office of Inspector General as assigned.
• Performs other duties within the scope of duties enumerated.
