Job summary

The Washington State Attorney General's Office (AGO) is seeking a dedicated attorney for its Government Compliance and Enforcement Division in the Washington State Patrol section. The role involves advising clients and managing all phases of litigation, with opportunities to appear in multiple courts and to work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Located on the Capitol Campus in Olympia, the position supports a hybrid in-office and telecommute schedule.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to public service and the mission of public law practice.
  • Litigation experience at administrative, state or federal level.
  • Ability to provide options-based advice to clients.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Value collaboration in a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide client advice across all aspects of litigation.
  • Litigate before OAH, with occasional appearances in district and state courts.
  • Prioritize and multi-task; draft pleadings and legal advice.
  • Attend hearings and consult with WSP personnel.
  • Support a team of attorneys within a multi-agency division.
