State of South Dakota is seeking an attorney committed to serving the public. This full-time position with the Department of Social Services involves handling diverse legal topics including child protection, foster care and adoption, Medicaid and behavioral health, licensing, and open meetings and records.

You will practice before the state’s Supreme Court and circuit courts and provide general counsel to licensing boards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited law school.
• Member of the South Dakota State Bar or eligible to become one.

• Write appellate briefs and represent the State in administrative and circuit court hearings.
• Provide general counsel services to licensing boards.
