Job summary

The Illinois Office of the Comptroller seeks a Public Service Administrator - IT - Database Administrator to develop, manage, and maintain DB2 databases under the Deputy Chief Information Officer. This role focuses on designing database systems, monitoring performance, backups, and ensuring data integrity and security.

You will serve as the primary DB2 technical contact, providing expert support and handling on-call duties to maintain system reliability and compliance across the mainframe

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related IT field.
• Minimum 2 years progressively responsible administrative experience with MVS Mainframe and DB2, including SQL writing and database management.
• Knowledge of database management systems, SQL, and computer science principles.
• Professional experience with DB2 on z/OS and SQL Server preferred.
• Document management and MS SQL administration certifications preferred.
