Job summary

The Illinois Office of the Comptroller is seeking a Public Service Administrator - IT - Database Administrator to develop, manage, and maintain DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance. The role covers DB2 information warehouse and SQL server databases with on-call support as needed.

Under supervision, you will create database objects, perform reorganizations, backups, and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable access to critical data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or mathematics.
• Experience with DB2 and SQL in a data environment.
• Knowledge of data security, backups, and recovery processes.
• Ability to work on-call and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains database systems including data loading.
• Monitors performance, troubleshoots issues, and configures servers/databases.
• Optimizes databases for efficiency, scalability, and availability.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to integrate databases with applications.
• Participates in backup and recovery strategy development and execution.
• Evaluates new database technologies and methodologies.
• Performs other duties as assigned within scope of duties.
• Requires knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in IT fields.
