Job summary

The City of Dublin, Ohio seeks Engineering/Planning students for a Transportation & Mobility Internship. This in-person, part-time seasonal role offers hands-on public sector experience, with a minimum 10 hours weekly during the school year and 30–40 hours during breaks.

Interns perform entry-level planning, design, reporting and coordination tasks in Dublin. Pay scales vary by student level from $17.00–$21.00/hour, with additional benefits including OPERS, PSLF eligibility, and

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Pursuing Civil Engineering, City/Regional Planning, Urban Design, or related ABET field.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to work in Dublin, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, reports, studies and other documents.
• Execute field measurements and basic calculations.
• Perform existing condition evaluations in the field.
• Visit construction sites and verify work against plans and specs.
• Prepare and update graphics, reports and materials for meetings.
• Handle data analysis, filing, research, and information gathering.
• Scan and file documents and drawings and provide record drawing information.
• Respond to calls, emails and requests from residents.
• Prepare exhibits and other documents as requested.
• Work outside in all weather, access construction sites, and manage traffic safety scenarios.
• Monitor and summarize large datasets such as parking, transit, mobility stats, speeds and crashes.
