Qualifications

• Graduate from an ABA-accredited law school and maintain active bar status.
• Experience in title examination, title opinions and related real property matters.
• Background in land acquisition, conveyancing, easements, and rights-of-way.
• Familiarity with federal regulations and government procurement is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex real-property issues for CBP.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on title review for CBP funded land acquisitions.
• Draft and revise deeds, sales and exchange agreements, and related instruments.
• Support DOJ as agency counsel in civil actions and assist in eDiscovery and motions.
• Conduct legal research across title review, land acquisition and budget laws.
• Develop and deliver training to CBP managers and staff on title and acquisition topics.
