Qualifications

Graduate from a ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of a U.S. state, D.C., or Puerto Rico bar.
Experience in title review, conveyancing, and federal land acquisition preferred.
Ability to draft and review land-related instruments and to support DoJ as agency counsel.

Responsibilities

Provide legal guidance and advocacy on real property matters, including title reviews for CBP-funded land acquisitions.
Draft and revise deeds, sales and exchange agreements, assignments, and other conveyancing instruments.
Support agency litigation efforts with reports, affidavits, and pleadings and participate in eDiscovery and settlements.
Perform legal research and apply laws across the CBP portfolio, including budget-related considerations.
Develop and deliver training to CBP managers and employees on title review and federal land acquisition.
