Job summary

Scale AI is seeking a Tech Lead to guide the ARC team in shaping secure, cloud-native backend solutions for government and high-security environments. You will mentor engineers, define long-term health goals for services, and lead architecture decisions to meet Federal and government mandates.

You will re-architect stacks for air-gapped environments, drive automated deployments, and partner with stakeholders to deliver innovative public-sector solutions.

Qualifications

• Active secret clearance required.
• Experience leading backend/infra teams.
• Ability to design secure, scalable backend systems.
• Familiarity with air-gapped / isolated environments a plus.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure scalable backend systems for Public Sector customers.
• Provide mentorship and manage team performance.
• Own services and define long-term health goals for the stack.
• Re-architect the stack for compliant environments with swappable auth/storage/logging components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to meet government needs.
• Contribute to platform roadmap and Product Strategy for Scale AI's Public Sector business.
