The City of Bridgeton, Missouri is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting to ensure proper management of public funds.

The successful candidate will have GAAP knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Mansioni

• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll and post to the general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor revenues, expenditures and balances for accuracy.
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial statements.
• Support the annual audit by providing schedules and documentation.
• Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with procedures.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable and other accounting tasks.
• Research and resolve discrepancies; suggest process improvements.
