Job summary

Montgomery County Office of Communications is seeking a social media manager to create engaging content across multiple platforms, manage a content calendar, and collaborate with the communications team on multimedia projects.

You will monitor community interactions, analyze performance metrics, and ensure compliance with policies and evolving best practices while maintaining timely, accurate communications for residents and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven experience in social media management and strategy.
• A strong portfolio of successful social campaigns.
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking and time-management.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling, informative content for Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, NextDoor, YouTube, and other platforms.
• Maintain a content calendar for consistent posts and campaigns.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop multimedia content.
• Monitor and engage with the community, responding to comments and inquiries.
• Analyze metrics and generate regular reports to evaluate effectiveness.
• Ensure activities align with policies and best practices.
