Job summary

The State of West Virginia seeks a dedicated procurement professional for the General Services Division to manage complex purchasing, from small items to multi-million dollar design and construction contracts, with emphasis on competitive bidding.

Under supervision, you will oversee bid processes, prepare specifications, review purchase orders, track requisitions, maintain compliance with state purchasing laws, and coordinate with agency requestors and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid clerical experience including purchasing supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the competitive bid process and review/award purchase orders.
• Research potential vendors and prepare documents for bidding and awards.
• Ensure compliance with state purchasing laws and agency procedures.
• Coordinate requisitions with GSD requestors to prepare complex specifications.
• Track and monitor agency and Central purchase orders and resolve purchasing issues.
