The Vermont Attorney General’s Office, located in Waterbury, VT, seeks a full-time Assistant Attorney General to represent the Department of Corrections. The role involves defending the DOC, its employees, and the State in civil actions, habeas petitions, and related proceedings across Vermont and federal courts.

The litigation attorney will handle discovery, motions, trials, and appeals, and may also advise the Department on various legal issues.

Formación

• Member in good standing of the Vermont bar or eligible for waiver.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation abilities and litigation experience in Vermont courts.
• Ability to interpret laws, policies, and court decisions in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work independently within a government team.
• IT skills and knowledge of civil procedure.

Responsabilidades
