Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking an Investment Division professional to join as Treasury Investment Officer 2. The role focuses on institutional investing, pension oversight, asset allocation, and liquidity management in public funds.

Ideal candidates understand complex financial information and can translate analysis into actionable guidance for senior leaders, boards, and consultants. Collaboration with IPERS, PORS, JRS, and external partners is essential.

Qualifications

Competitive candidates have experience or knowledge in institutional investment management or consulting.
Experience with pension or retirement system investments is preferred.
Strong ability to analyze portfolio performance and risk and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

Support IPERS, PORS, and JRS investment responsibilities.
Review portfolio performance, asset allocation, manager performance, fees, and risks.
Monitor financial markets and investment trends affecting state assets.
Prepare analysis and recommendations for Treasury leadership.
Participate in meetings with pension staff, consultants, managers, and partners.
Assist in pension and investment board meeting preparations.
Help oversee the State’s investment portfolio and daily liquidity needs.
Analyze cash flows, maturities, and market conditions.
Support investment transactions and fund movements between institutions.
Monitor compliance with investment policies and statutory requirements.
Assist with securities lending and banking relationships.
