Job summary

The City of Lansing's Human Resources Department is seeking a detail-oriented Hiring Specialist to manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding across City departments. The role requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have HR experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with applicant tracking systems.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Human Resources Administration, Labor Relations or a related field.
• Three to five years of HR experience including recruitment, selection, EEO compliance, testing and training administration, and compensation classification processing.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.

Responsibilities

• Administers the City’s selection process for all departments and roles.
• Provide customer service to employees and residents while maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicates job opportunities, vacancy requirements, and selection decisions with good judgment.
• Reviews and screens applications and updates data for reporting.
