Job summary

The City of Greensboro Finance Department seeks a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Reporting Division, analyzing complex financial data and preparing financial statements and reports for City leadership and external stakeholders.

This exempt role emphasizes independence, professional judgment, and collaboration with underwriters, attorneys, and credit analysts to support debt management and accurate financial reporting for Greensboro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 24 hours of accounting coursework.
• OR an Associate's Degree in Accounting and at least 7 years of related governmental accounting experience.
• 4+ years of related accounting experience (advanced accounting or financial reporting).
• Certified Local Government Finance Officer (Certificate required within three years).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial data and prepare reports on the City's financial condition.
• Prepare financial statements and ad hoc financial and budgetary reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage the City's debt issuance process and coordinate with LGС and partners.
• Research credit rating criteria and prepare materials for rating agency presentations.
• Lead staff planning meetings related to debt transactions.
