Job summary

Baker Tilly US invites you to join the Summer 2027 Public Sector Finance Intern program in Minneapolis for hands-on experience in municipal debt issuance and capital projects financing. You will work with experienced public sector advisors on planning, analysis and client-ready materials.

You will develop quantitative and analytical skills, contribute to client engagements, and gain exposure to public finance structures, market concepts and teamwork in a coast-to-coast advisory environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, public administration, public policy, mathematics or another related field.
• Enrollment in a master’s degree program such as an MPA, MPP, MBA, or similar degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support debt issuance engagements from early-stage planning through transaction execution and learn how municipal financings are structured, sold and repaid.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining financial analyses, debt models, schedules, presentations and other client‑ready materials used to support financing decisions.
• Analyze financial information such as existing debt, future borrowing needs, revenue and expenditure trends, fund balances and tax‑or‑rate‑supported revenues.
• Assist with transaction documentation, financing calendars, data requests, due diligence materials and other activities that help keep debt issuance projects organized and moving forward.
• Participate in client meetings and financing working‑group discussions with issuers and other transaction professionals.
