Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Summer 2027 Public Sector Finance Intern (Capital & Infrastructure - Debt Issuance) in the United States. You will support municipal debt issuance and advisory work for state and local governments, utilities, school districts, and authorities, gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced public sector professionals.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, teamwork, and attention to detail are valued.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in finance, accounting, economics, business, public administration, public policy, mathematics or related field.
Pursuing a master’s degree such as MBA/MPA/MPP is a plus.
Interest in public finance, municipal debt, infrastructure or government finance.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
No prior professional experience required; internships and coursework are valued.

Responsibilities

Support debt issuance engagements from planning through transaction execution.
Assist with evaluating financing alternatives and debt structures.
Prepare and maintain financial analyses, debt models, schedules and client materials.
Analyze existing debt, future borrowing needs, revenue and expenditure trends.
Participate in client meetings and financing working-group discussions.
Build knowledge of public finance structures and market terminology.
