Job summary

OpenGov is seeking an ERP Solutions Engineer to guide local government finance teams through evaluating and implementing OpenGov's financial solutions. You will conduct discovery, translate accounting workflows into system configurations, and deliver demos that show how budgeting, general ledger, procurement, and reporting are modernized.

You will combine accounting expertise with product knowledge to help cities and counties understand operational and compliance benefits of modern ERP systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial systems, ERP implementation, or public sector finance advisory.
• Strong understanding of government accounting principles, fund accounting, GASB standards, budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience communicating accounting and system concepts to finance teams, IT staff, and leadership.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based ERP or financial management systems.
• Familiarity with government procurement, budget development, or financial compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct discovery sessions with government finance teams to map current accounting practices and budgets.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations connecting OpenGov capabilities to public sector financial challenges.
• Serve as the primary accounting and finance expert during evaluations, translating workflows into configurations.
• Design and execute proof-of-concept activities reflecting government accounting scenarios.
• Support RFI/RFP/RFQ development with finance requirements and responses.
• Provide guidance on GASB compliance, controls, and reporting within OpenGov.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Professional Services to feedback customer needs.
• Create process docs, configuration guides, and best-practice resources.
