Job summary

Nevada Risk Pooling, Inc., the administrator of POOL/PACT, seeks a Risk Management Specialist to advance enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, and safety initiatives across more than 144 member entities in Nevada. The role requires collaboration with elected officials, sheriffs, and school leaders, and includes site assessments, policy development, and governance work.

The position is hybrid with in-office presence in Carson City and statewide travel.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AI tools and responsible use of technology in public sector work.
• Excellent written communication under deadline and ability to present persuasively.
• Strong verbal communication and relationship-building with elected officials and public leaders.
• Ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable guidance for diverse audiences.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working groups across departments.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver the Enterprise Risk Management Excellence Program (ERMEP).
• Lead or participate in quarterly committees and working groups (ERMEP, NDAWG, NRSROWG).
• Engage with member entities via presentations, memos, and reports to motivate action.
• Help develop policies compliant with Nevada statutes and federal law.
• Incorporate AI governance considerations into risk management practices.
• Oversee risk assessments at facilities and coordinate cybersecurity risk work.
• Travel across Nevada for meetings, assessments, and trainings as needed.
