Job summary

City of Lancaster seeks a Digital Media Intern to assist the Mayor’s Office with electronic storytelling. You will create short-form video and visual content, capture events, and help publish engaging material across platforms for residents and visitors.

The role targets students in digital media, journalism, marketing, or public service, offering hands‑on experience in a local government setting with brand and accessibility guidelines.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field.
• Experience creating content for social media platforms.
• Experience shooting and editing video.
• Familiarity with video editing tools (Edits, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut).

Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit short-form video content for City platforms.
• Capture video and photos at City events and gatherings.
• Edit content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook.
• Add captions, on-screen text, and basic graphics.
• Assist with content planning and story ideas highlighting City initiatives.
