Job summary

The DC Government Office of the Inspector General, External Affairs Division, is seeking a Communications Specialist to lead the creation, design, and publishing of digital and print content that explains OIG’s oversight work to District residents, stakeholders, and media.

You will produce newsletters, emails, social content, videos, infographics, and web pages while ensuring Section 508/WCAG compliance, managing editorial calendars, assets, and metadata, and coordinating with partners to

Qualifications

  • Experience producing digital and print communications for public-sector or oversight organizations.
  • Expertise with Drupal, Adobe Creative Cloud, multimedia production, and accessibility standards under Section 508 and WCAG.
  • Ability to translate complex audit material into clear public-facing content and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, production, and publishing of digital and print content.
  • Produce newsletters, emails, social media content, press materials, videos, infographics, and web pages.
  • Ensure compliance with 508/WCAG accessibility and maintain agency branding.
  • Coordinate with IT/OCTO on web standards and metadata; monitor analytics and optimize content.
  • Prepare release packages for major publications.
