Job summary

CPS HR Consulting is seeking a compensation project consultant to support public-sector clients with deep compensation expertise in data interpretation, benchmarking, and strategic recommendations.

You will operate in a project-based W-2 consulting capacity with flexible, as-needed engagements, typically 5-10 hours per week, addressing pay structures, classification alignment, and total rewards design for diverse government clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• CCP, IPMA-CP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Minimum of five years HR experience with public sector, focus on compensation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret compensation studies, including market benchmarking.
• Translate findings into actionable client recommendations.
• Design salary structures, pay plans, and compensation frameworks.
• Present findings to executive stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment of compensation strategy with client goals.
