Job summary

Guru Consulting Services LLC is seeking a Compensation & Benefits Study Consultant to lead a market study for a municipal government client. The role requires 8+ years in compensation research, with a focus on public sector benchmarks and total rewards.

The contract spans through February 2027, with 1099/C2C engagement and collaboration with city leadership and HR stakeholders. Strong Excel and analytics skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business, Public Administration, Economics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience conducting compensation and classification studies.
• Strong expertise in public sector compensation, salary benchmarking, and total rewards.
• Experience working with unionized workforces and multiple pay structures is highly preferred.
• Advanced skills in Excel, compensation analytics, and market survey methodologies.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive compensation and benefits market study.
• Benchmark approximately 100 positions against comparable public and private employers.
• Analyze salary ranges, pay progression, differentials, bonuses, and allowances.
• Evaluate pension, retirement, healthcare, disability, life insurance, and paid leave programs.
• Compare total compensation packages and recommend competitive salary adjustments.
• Develop a sustainable compensation methodology for future pay plan maintenance.
• Present findings and executive recommendations to city leadership and HR stakeholders.
