Job summary

The City of Albany is seeking a Budget Analyst to support operating and capital budgets and apply budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, labor costing, and data analysis to inform leadership decisions.

You will turn complex financial information into clear analysis and recommendations, monitor budgets, evaluate impacts, and support budget processes with technical expertise and collaboration with departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
• Three years of progressively responsible professional budgeting/forecasting/analysis experience.
• Local government budgeting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Forecast revenues and expenditures; perform financial analysis and reporting.
• Prepare budget documents and financial models; provide recommendations.
