Job summary

The College is seeking a Budget Analyst to prepare, administer, monitor, and analyze operating and capital budgets. You will coordinate budget development, analyze financial data, and provide technical support for planning and decision-making.

Responsibilities include preparing operating budgets, journal entries, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with GASB and state requirements. Strong Excel skills and data governance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Experience with budget development, forecasting, and reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and budgeting practices.
• Experience with financial analysis, revenue/expense forecasting, and cost allocation.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing, implementing, and monitoring the operating budget; verifies adjustments and analyzes data.
• Provides technical budget support and prepares financial reports and narratives.
• Prepares budget journal entries and ensures compliance with GASB, state, and federal requirements.
• Compiles financial reports and projections to support planning and decision-making.
• Evaluates financial trends, funding needs, and cost allocations for programs and services.
• Supports capital budget development, reporting, and capital project analyses.
• Maintains financial information for internal and external reporting and funding requests.
• Strengthens data governance, documentation, and internal controls in budgeting and reporting.
• Participates in cross-training and provides support for budget administration and strategic finance functions.
• Performs other duties and represents the department as needed.
