Job summary

Benton County in Oregon is hiring a Budget Director to lead the Finance department’s budget, forecasting, and resource allocation. This role advises the County Administrator, CFO, and Board on budget strategy and execution.

You will oversee the Budget Team, manage budget development and monitoring for the County and Districts, and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Strong supervisory experience and a track record in public finance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible governmental accounting and budgeting experience.
• Three years of managerial or supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the County's budget, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Direct countywide budget development, monitoring, and analysis for the County and County Service Districts.
• Prepare long-range financial plans with CFO and County Administrator to support priorities.
• Ensure compliance with all county, state, and federal budget requirements.
