Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Business Analyst and System QA Tester for its Public Sector client. This dual role bridges business users, IT teams, and vendor partners to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and perform rigorous testing to ensure system performance, compliance, and user satisfaction.

Working with the Product Portfolio Director, you will support the transformation of enterprise licensing, enforcement, and customer service systems through thorough documentation, acceptance criteria,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information systems, CS, or related field.
• 3+ years in business analysis or QA, ideally gov/public-sector.
• Familiarity with government licensing, enforcement, or case-management systems.
• Experience with AWS/GCP cloud-hosted apps and enterprise platforms.
• Ability to learn new testing tools and automation platforms with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between business units, product managers, development teams, and external vendors to gather and define system requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and user observation sessions.
• Translate needs into detailed requirements, user stories, and functional specs.
• Analyze current and future business processes; identify improvements and innovation.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and develop acceptance criteria.
• Support UAT and provide training materials when needed.
• Ensure traceability from requirements through design, testing, and deployment.
• Design, develop, and execute test plans and scripts for manual and automated testing.
• Log, track, and manage defects to resolution with appropriate tools.
• Validate fixes and retest resolved issues.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure quality and standards.
