Join MGO as an Assurance Supervisor in the State and Local Government Practice to lead high-profile government audit engagements across states, counties, cities, and major agencies. The role requires collaboration with teams across offices and a focus on transparency, accountability, and effective use of public resources.

You will oversee planning through issuance, manage budgets and timelines, and coach junior staff while building expertise in GASB, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in public accounting, including State and Local Government audit.
• CPA preferred; CPA-eligibility considered for licensure.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit engagements from planning through issuance.
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, staffing and overall project execution.
• Review workpapers, assess risks and ensure compliance with standards.
• Serve as trusted advisor and primary client contact.
• Supervise and mentor associates, providing coaching and feedback.
• Develop expertise in governmental accounting standards (GASB, GAGAS, Uniform Guidance).
• Support practice growth through client service and business development initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to the Government Practice's success.
