Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, GIS, Computer Science or closely related field, or equivalent coursework; and two years of technical project management experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of databases, programming principles, networks and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Acts as project manager for software and hardware acquisitions, deployments and upgrades; prepares status reports.
• Administers, designs, tests, implements, maintains and modifies computer systems, software, security measures and databases; ensures reliability and stability.
• Designs and maintains system reports involving complex programming of software and databases.
• Provides high level technical assistance and troubleshooting for internal customers.
• Analyzes processes to determine feasible technology options and solutions and assists end users.
• Provides planning and training on applications and systems to ensure optimal use.
• Ensures software licensing and compliance for specialty software used by the city.
• Oversees budgeting for assigned projects and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
