Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to deliver production-grade AI and automation solutions for defense, intelligence, and aerospace missions using the Salesforce platform and related technologies.

The role involves end-to-end delivery, data integration, and collaboration with national-security-focused clients, including achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) readiness and secure deployment in IL5/IL6 environments. Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or systems integration.
• Strong background in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python, Apex).
• Hands-on, end-to-end delivery of high-quality, scalable production solutions in a professional environment.
• Experience with AI/LLM technologies, including integrating LLMs, AI orchestration frameworks, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with data integration, API design, ETL, and AI/ML model deployment.
• Familiarity with analytics, data warehouses, and operational dashboards (e.g., Tableau, CRM Analytics, Snowflake).
• Experience in or adjacent to secure environments.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites.
• Must be a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil without dual citizenship and able to meet customer and government screening standards.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy AI and automation solutions into defense, intelligence, and aerospace environments.
• Collaborate with end users to translate mission needs into technical implementations on Salesforce platform.
• Bridge customer missions and Salesforce engineering by gathering feedback and co-designing features.
• Improve efficiency, mission readiness, and trust by deploying scalable technology.
• Deliver end-to-end technical solutions, including coding, configuring systems, and troubleshooting.
• Design and implement scalable production systems leveraging AI and LLMs to automate workflows on Salesforce.
• Own data configuration and integration end-to-end, including data models and pipelines with secure readiness.
• Develop intelligent agents and automations on the Agentforce platform.
• Conduct deep-dive debugging and analysis to optimize performance and reliability.
• Prototype and iterate through proofs-of-concept and MVPs with client teams.
• Apply best practices for code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.
