Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Five years of progressive accounting experience including two years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB; experience with financial systems, reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions: general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes, including payments, vendor ACH, invoicing, and collections.
• Lead payroll operations: processing, reconciliation, posting, taxes, deductions, benefits, and accruals.
• Ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and financial reporting requirements.
• Monitor cash flow and banking activities; perform reconciliations and close processes.
• Support audits by preparing documentation, bank confirmations, and responding to auditor requests.
• Prepare regulatory and financial reports for committees, State filings, and National Transit Database.
