Cameron County seeks an experienced Manager of Financial Services to lead Payroll and Accounts Payable, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines as it prepares the ACFR and GASB disclosures. The role reports to the County Auditor’s Office and drives internal controls with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in accounting, audit and/or preparation of financial statements, preferably with a government entity.
• Experience with ACFR and GASB standards is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all functions of county-wide payroll and accounts payable divisions.
• Develop policies, procedures, and workflows that strengthen internal controls and improve efficiency.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff.
• Performs difficult, complex and specialized assignments in the fiscal administration of County operations.
• Provides technical support for other county departments on special projects as assigned.
• Special Projects and other duties as assigned.
• Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate payments.
• Prepare year-end closures, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
• Assist with ACFR preparation and GASB disclosures.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely submission of ACFR and GASB documentation.
