Job summary

County of San Mateo is seeking a Financial Services Manager I to lead the Disbursements and Financial Reporting Division within the Controller's Office. The role oversees staff, ensures GAAP/GASB compliance, and prepares comprehensive financial reports and schedules for ACFR, JPFA, and state reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least five years in financial duties within a large public agency, with strong leadership and communication

• Oversee preparation of required financial reports and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide training and guidance to staff; evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors and support system upgrades.
