Job summary

State of North Carolina invites applications for an Accounting Manager to help build accounting operations for the North Carolina Council of District Attorneys. You will manage AP/AR, payroll, cash management, grants, and financial reporting while shaping internal controls and policies.

You will lead a small fiscal team, interact with agency leadership and state partners, and contribute to budgeting and annual reporting processes that support prosecutors across the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and five years of accounting experience in a government setting.
• Supervisory experience is preferred and CPA/CMA/CGMA certification is a plus.
• Experience with state accounting systems and reporting requirements is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including AP/AR, payroll, and reporting.
• Develop policies and internal controls for a new agency and ensure compliance.
• Supervise a small fiscal team and coordinate work with leadership.
