Job summary

The New York City Police Pension Fund is seeking an Accountant to maintain investment statements, prepare reports, and perform analyses under the Director of Accounting. Responsibilities include AP duties, audit procedures, journal entries, and supporting annual audits.

The role requires strong analytical and numerical abilities, and offers on-site work at 233 Broadway with a 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM shift. Salary is fixed at $65,000 with full NYC government benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with 3 years of related community work experience.
• Equivalency to the above criteria may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile monthly/annual financial reports.
• Perform all Accounts Payable related duties.
• Perform audit procedures to ensure controls are in place.
• Perform difficult arithmetical computations.
• Monitor and manage cash balances available for investment; recommend investment of the Fund's balances based on cash needs.
• Present financial reports and various other related projects to management.
• Enter journal entries into the accounting software.
• Participate in annual audit and follow-up with all audit requests.
• Investigate/Resolve any variances related to financial reports.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures to improve unit workflow and efficiency.
• Work on special projects and other ad hoc projects as designated by Unit Supervisor and CFO.
