Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of public accounting.
• Foundational knowledge of agency function and organization.
• Foundational knowledge of governmental accounting and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Post transactions to ledgers and accounts.
• Verify accuracy of financial documents and records.
• Reconcile accounts with the general ledger.
• Prepare, adjust entries prior to closing.
• Prepare periodic financial reports (balance sheets, income statements).
• Ensure funds are available before payments are approved.
• Prepare and verify data processing entries and documents.
• Suggest changes in accounting procedures.
