Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Accountant 1 in Cambria County to join the fiscal reporting team. The role will analyze financial transactions and prepare statements, supporting programs that guide children and youth toward safe and stable futures.

Responsibilities include assisting in budget preparation, processing invoices, preparing ledger reports, and maintaining eligibility records. This full‑time position follows a standard 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule with no telework option.

Qualifications

• One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.
• One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
• Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial transactions and prepare documented financial statements and reports.
• Assist in preparing and modifying program budgets for the use of state and county funds.
• Post invoices from service providers, prepare and submit foster care invoices, and process other program invoices as needed.
• Prepare general ledger reports and trial balances, journal entries, cost allocations; reconcile client income; and oversee and verify the completion of service provider contract files.
• Prepare income calculations for Title IV-E Foster Care eligibility and medical assistance determination; maintain eligibility and status records.
• Pull and analyze reports, gather information, and conduct internal audit of petty cash fund.
