Qualifications

• Seven years of qualifying experience as a law enforcement officer, trainer, or public safety program administrator.
• An associate degree or 60 credit hours may substitute for two years; a bachelor’s may substitute for four; a master’s may substitute for five.
• Promotional: One year of service as Public Safety Program Specialist 1, SG-18.
• Candidates with curriculum development, criminal investigation methodologies, or policy experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of training programs and model policy guidance for police and peace officers.
• Oversee administration of training programs and revisions to MPTC curricula.
• Provide technical assistance to law enforcement agencies and review training compliance with laws and standards.
• Prepare reports, tables, and visuals on emerging trends for executive review and publication.
• Develop online training programs and manage LMS, listservs, and website content.
• Assemble stakeholder panels and draft policy guidance documents for statutorily required implementation.
• Travel ~15% as needed.
