The Public Safety Program Specialist 2 within the Division of Criminal Justice Services develops, implements, and oversees training programs for law enforcement officers and peace officers. Based in Albany, this position requires approximately 15% travel and supports law enforcement needs through policy development, program evaluation, and specialized training initiatives.

Key qualifications:

• Seven years of qualifying experience as a law enforcement officer, law enforcement trainer, or public safety program administrator
• Associate degree or 60 credit hours (substitutes for 2 years); Bachelor's degree (substitutes for 4 years); Master's degree or higher (substitutes for 5 years)
• Experience with curriculum development, criminal investigation methodologies, crime scene processing, and policy preferred
• Ability to conduct training, develop online programs, and manage training contracts
• Strong research, writing, and technical assistance capabilities for law enforcement agencies
