Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) Public Safety is seeking a Manager of Training, Standards, & Compliance to lead department-wide training, policy development, and performance improvement initiatives across the health system.

Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, the role directs training, compliance, accreditation readiness, and workplace violence prevention, partnering with HR, Risk, and Emergency Preparedness to ensure a highly skilled workforce.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare security, public safety, law enforcement, emergency management, or related field.
• Experience managing training, professional standards, regulatory compliance, or quality improvement programs.
• Experience supervising staff and leading organizational initiatives.
• Experience developing policies, training curricula, competency programs, and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead department training, competency, and professional development programs; develop and evaluate annual training strategies and curricula.
• Direct Workplace Violence Prevention training in collaboration with clinical, HR, Risk, and Emergency Preparedness leaders to meet Joint Commission, CMS, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage professional standards, policy, and regulatory compliance programs; maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and surveys.
• Lead quality improvement and professional standards initiatives; analyze trends and recommend corrective actions or training.
• Provide leadership and supervision for the training function; set goals, coach staff, and foster professionalism and accountability.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness training and readiness with Emergency Preparedness to support drills and after-action reviews.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of Public Safety personnel; perform special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety.
