Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and four years of work experience in public safety or related areas; two years as a full-time instructor in peace officer or related topics.
• Georgia P.O.S.T. General Instructor certification or equivalent; must maintain current status.
• Preference for applicants with firearms, defensive tactics, and/or use of force instructor certifications.

Responsibilities

• Instructs public safety training in basic, advanced, and specialized topics.
• Participates in needs assessment, design, and evaluation of statewide public safety training programs.
• Demonstrates teamwork and a high degree of customer service.
• May supervise and coach less experienced instructors.
