Job summary

The New York City Police Department is seeking a CERT IT DEVELOPER (APP) to lead complex IT development programs within the Strategic Technology Division. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, QA, operations, products, and business units to drive scope, timelines, dependencies, and outcomes.

You will oversee vendor performance, manage governance, and deliver dashboards to executives, while ensuring secure SDLC compliance and proactive risk management within public-safety

Qualifications

• Current professional/vendor certifications required.
• Must have one of the specified education/experience combinations.
• Knowledge of IT development life cycle, security, and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale technical programs, incl. design reviews, development, testing, deployment, operations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to align scope, timelines, dependencies and outcomes.
• Oversee vendor and consultant performance to meet standards and SLAs.
• Manage program governance: roadmaps, milestones, risks, and status reporting.
• Identify risks and opportunities; drive actions to resolution.
• Lead incident management, escalations, and post-mortems for platform issues.
• Develop program dashboards and metrics to track progress and adoption.
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
• Partner with managers, architects, and leadership to prioritize initiatives and resolve blockers.
• Ensure compliance with secure SDLC and security requirements.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and ensure clear communication.
• Facilitate meetings and provide regular status reporting to leadership.
• Ensure documentation and governance materials are accurate and accessible.
